Pigtail Connector

The FiberCore Pigtail Connector is a short optical fiber (usually 0.5–2 meters) with a factory-terminated and factory-polished connector on one end, while the other end is left as bare fiber. The bare side is fusion spliced to the field fiber, creating a permanent and reliable joint with minimal splice loss. Because the connector is factory-polished under controlled conditions, pigtails provide consistent low insertion loss and excellent return loss performance. They are widely used in optical distribution frames (ODFs), patch panels, and passive optical networks (PONs) where long-term reliability and high connection quality are required.
